Pronto! We have just arrived in Pisa, so we have to catch you up on our travels through Italia. We spent a wonderful day in Venezia, enjoying the food, sights and smells of the open air fish market among other things. Venezia is a living museum and the canals that run throughout really give one the sense of a vibrant and exciting city. And yes, the people who steer the Gondoles do wear the funny hats and striped shirts.
In Firenze, we stayed in the mountains in the heart of wine country where the hills roll and the grapes grow. We ate at a small restaurant where the local nonnas volunteer to make dinner for the tourists. Kent has learned how to say “no cheese” in Italian and I have learned that I better finish everything on my plate lest I get scowled at by various nonnas.
Enjoy the photographs and please leave some comments. Also, be sure to check down to see the updated Bad Kissingen post, as we now have some pitures uploaded. We will be in Pisa until the morning of the 3rd and then it is off to Roma. Caio.

Hi Boys,
I love the pic of the pasta vending machine! In the heart of pasta country I can’t see anyone actually eating from a machine. I wonder if the pasta comes out hot? Too cool! Do you have to kiss the nonna’s when you are done with your meal so they won’t get upset? What beautiful countryside, I hope you were drinking great wine while being serenaded by the gondole driver and weren’t thinking of the Germany version of Achey Breaky Heart. I can just picture you two falling down laughing! It all looks wonderful can’t wait to see you both and all of your lovely pictures! Love,
Mom
Caio bella! Any Strega Nonna’s?
The pictures are great and the views are beautiful.
Kent were you actually able to get things without cheese?
You two must know by now how much you are missed. So glad to see your handsome faces. Continue to enjoy every minute of your adventure
love Mom T
How is the pasta? is it Angie Taromina caliber? Italy looks like lots of fun. I hope you two took a romantic nigh time gondole ride under the Venetian sky nestled in each others arms.
seriously if you did there better be pictures of that.
Everyone misses you more than they say. House is pretty empty, as all of my brothers are gone. See you soon I suppose
